Long before Hunter Baize could legally drive on the roads of Bremen, Kentucky, he was driving on the racetrack, competing against some of the best drivers in the Midwest. Baize began his career racing go-karts before moving up to Baby Grand Stock Cars in 2011.
In 2012, Baize won the Pro National Baby Grand Stock Car Rookie-of-the-Year, along with securing second in series points.
2013 saw a move to full-size stock cars and the highly competitive, JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, the same series that has produced NASCAR stars such as Erik Jones and Chase Elliot. Baize finished an impressive ninth in series points scoring two top-10 finishes and six top-15 finishes.
Entering 2014, Hunter Baize Racing teamed up with VanDoorn Racing Development. VRD is owned and operated by Super Late Model hot shoe, Johnny VanDoorn and his brother Butch VanDoorn. Most recognized for their work in Late Model racing; names linked with the VanDoorns have included Erik Jones, Cody Coughlin and Chad Finley.
Baize impressed early and often while racing in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour this season. The 2014 season was highlighted by Baize’s first career victory in a full-size stock car at the tricky Columbus Motor Speedway (OH). A fast time award at Berlin Raceway (MI), as well as, five top-five finishes and six top-10 finishes helped the No. 13 Hunter Baize Racing team finish fifth in the overall points standings.
Hunter was born December 2, 1997. He currently lives in Bremen, Kentucky. Off the track, he enjoys basketball, ping-pong and hanging out with friends.
