Baize to Compete in Busch North Throwback 100 at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park

Abingdon, VA July 6, 2017 - The Martin-McClure Racing organization is preparing for the highly anticipated Busch North Throwback 100 at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park. While not participating in the formal throwback festivities, Baize will run the No.13 entry paying tribute to Eric McClure's long time NASCAR Xfinity Series Sponsor Reynolds Wrap.

Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, located on 500 acres of rolling hills in Thompson, CT, boasts a 5/8ths mile, high- banked, asphalt racing surface as well as a 1/7 mile road course, golf course and other features on their campus.

Baize, who is currently 4th place in season long point standings, will be under direction of crew chief Matt Weber who joined the MMR organization at Berlin Raceway.

Eric McClure:

"I always enjoyed my time behind the wheel as a driver in NASCAR. This throwback weekend has given me lots of opportunities for nostalgia. With having Reynolds Wrap supporting MMR and Hunter Baize's program, I never realized how old I was until someone started using the word "throwback" referring to me. While I never raced in the Busch North Series, I'm glad to be able to experience a pseudo-throwback this weekend with Hunter, celebrating my longstanding relationship with Reynolds Wrap and the rich history of Morgan-McClure Motorsports and the opportunity to write pages in the history books of Martin-McClure Racing."

Hal Martin:

"With the disappointments of our last race at Berlin behind us, we're looking forward to the race at Thompson Speedway and for the next opportunity to showcase Hunter Baize and our MMR team.

This will be the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East's first time back at Thompson Speedway in a few years. We're confident in our set up and are looking forward to getting back to the track. I have the utmost confidence in Hunter and our MMR crew."

Hunter Baize:

"All of us at MMR are ready to get back to the race track. Everyone has worked so hard with this short turnaround to get us to Thompson. Coming off such a strong run that ended disappointingly, we hope to be able to finish the job this weekend."
