Moorseville, N.C. April 12, 2016 - Every racing series has its big events and for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE) its annual trip to Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway is one of those. This coming Saturday the NKNPSE will return to Bristol for the running of the PittLite 125.
Three races into the 2016 season, HScott Motorsports with Justin Marks (HSMJM) looks to have picked up right where it left off in 2015. The four-team organization has won two of the first three NKNPSE events this season. Driver Tyler Dippel piloted his No. 38 EastWest Marine/TyCar Chevrolet SS to victory lane in the Mobile 150 at Mobile (Ala.) International Speedway on March 13. His teammate Justin Haley then won his first career NKNPSE event at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in Easley, S.C., on March 26. All four HSMJM teams will make the trip to Bristol looking to earn the team's third victory of the 2016 season.
Justin Haley, driver of the No. 5... Haley enters the PittLite 125 coming off his first career NKNPSE win at Greenville-Pickens Speedway. That win propelled him to third in the series standings, four points behind the leader. In addition to that win, Haley drove the No. 32 Braun Motorsports NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) entry in the Alpha Energy Solutions 250 at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway on April 2. A late-race accident ended his top-five run early.
Haley has previous experience at Bristol. The Indiana native, finished 14th in last August's NCWTS event there and ninth in this race one year ago.
Haley on Bristol... "I am really looking forward to getting back in my No. 5 Braun Auto Chevrolet this weekend. We built a brand new car that will be debuting on Saturday. I'm hoping we can carry the momentum we gained at Greenville-Pickens into this weekend's race. It's fun to go to the track with the HScott Motorsports with Justin Marks guys because I know they are going to bring a great race car. We had a great run there last year and I'm hoping we can do the same this Saturday."
Harrison Burton, driver of the No. 12... Burton will be making his debut at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday with helpful advice from his father, Jeff Burton, a previous winner at the Tennessee short track. In three NKNPSE races this season, he has a season-best finish of seventh. He looks to improve on that finish behind the wheel of his No. 12 DEX Imaging/Konica Minolta Toyota Camry this weekend.
Burton on Bristol... "Our last race didn't go as well as I wanted it to, but I still have confidence in the No. 12 DEX imaging Konica Minolta Toyota team, and myself. I think we'll turn it all around at Bristol. It is a track that I've always liked and it will be very cool to finally get to race there."
Hunter Baize, driver of the No. 13... Baize, like his teammate Burton, will make his Bristol Motor Speedway debut on Saturday. After a disappointing start to the season, the 18-year-old driver has scored two consecutive top-10 finishes. He looks to continue his streak of top-10s in Saturday's PittLite 125.
Baize on Bristol... "I'm so thankful for the opportunity to race at Bristol. It's surreal to think we'll be racing at such a historic track. I feel my HScott Motorsports with Justin Marks guys will give us a great car and we'll be very competitive."
Tyler Dippel, driver of the No. 38... Dippel enters the fourth race of the NKNPSE season with a win already under his belt in 2016. After a victory in the Mobile 150 on March 13, the 15-year-old wheelman backed that performance up with another top-10 effort at Greenville-Pickens Speedway, finishing eighth. He has scored three-straight top-10 finishes to begin the season and sits fourth in the standings, only five points behind the leader.
Dippel on Bristol... "I'm really excited to get to race at Bristol. It's a lot different than anything I've raced on before, but with this great group guys behind me we should have a strong run and be able to contend for the win."
The PittLite125 will commence immediately following the NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday, April 16. The event will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network at a date and time yet to be announced. On April 12, 2016
